BRUSSELS, Belgium (21 September 2007) - In July 2007, HIMSS EMEA launched its first Health IT Community forum on XING, a unique online platform with 1.5 million members in over 190 countries networking in at least 16 different languages. This step into the online networking world is part of the HIMSS EMEA mission of leading change in the healthcare information and management systems field through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation and community affiliations.
Currently HIMSS EMEA has captured the attention of 506 professional health individuals with a daily increase of 3-5 new members per day since the introduction of the Health IT Community forum. Members range from graduate students to doctors as well as entrepreneurs in the Health Industry. Several HIMSS EMEA colleagues can be found in this long list of online members as well.
Upon registering, members receive a welcome note from the Health IT Community introducing them into the forum. The online community features seven discussion groups that include: the Welcome forum, Events, Debates and viewpoints, Interoperability, Patient Safety, Privacy and data security, and Jobs and Opportunities. All members are encouraged to post current event, as well as ask questions and lead new discussions.
The forum is open and free to all who would like to exchange information, views and tips relevant for this community of health IT professionals in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
