HIMSS Europe is pleased to announce the selection of Björn Bergh, Angela Dunbar and Eric Maurincomme to serve on its European Governing Council.
The HIMSS Europe Governing Council is comprised of ten members representative of the different countries, regions, constituencies and professions relevant to the eHealth Community in Europe. The purpose of this body is to help HIMSS Europe develop its mission to lead the eHealth profession, the industry and other key stakeholders in advancing healthcare through IT and by providing strategic advice and guidance to the association. The Governing Council meets at least three times a year to decide on future activities, programmes, review progress and discuss changes.
Björn Bergh serves as Professor for Medical Information Systems at the University Hospital and Medical Faculty Heidelberg. Björn brings the academic perspective to the Council. Björn is member of various industrial and public advisory bodies and a consultant editor of the HIT Journal.
Angel Dunbar brings 11 years of experience in healthcare IT, and currently is an eHealth advisor to governments and affiliated organizations. Prior to this, she coordinated the eHealth programme for the World Health Organization European office and the European activities in the WHO Global Observatory for eHealth.
Eric Maurincomme is currently the Vice-President Business Development at Agfa HealthCare, and is responsible for developing all the marketing and communication activities of the company. Eric is also Chairman of the Healthcare Committee of COCIR and Chairman of the eHealth Industry Stakeholders Group managed by the European Information Society & Media Directorate-General.
